A new tweet from the developer cites April 21, 2021 as the date anyone who doesn’t wear two million sunscreen is going to have a bad day. It is believed that the recent undead problem that has slowly taken over the entire island was in the style of Dr. Strangelove needs to be corrected. It seems that General Ripper has exceeded his authority.

- What does this mean for Warzone? Well, it looks like the end of the world will mark the culmination of Black Ops Cold War’s integration into Warzone.
- Once the fallout wears off, Verdansk will reappear with a new / old 1980s aesthetic. It remains to be seen if this will be the only somewhat outdated à la carte change.
- Verdansk has been Warzone’s battleground since its launch in March 2020, and Battle Royale ‘Mountain could use little more than a mule and a few Tag Glo leggings. For now, we just have to wait and see.
- The Call of Duty Twitter account shared a cryptic message teasing “the end is near” – in particular, the end will arrive on April 21 at 12:00 p.m. PDT / 3:00 p.m. EDT / 8:00 p.m. BST.
- The video in the teaser appears to show one of the game’s terminals with a pixelated skull displayed on its orange screen.
- The teaser doesn’t specifically refer to the Warzone Nuke event, which is rumored to mark the end of the current season, but everything has been headed in that direction so far. Especially the part where Warzone went nuclear early thanks to a hilarious bug.

As CoD players are well aware, Warzone was a cheater’s paradise. Activision has regularly closed thousands of accounts in an attempt to suppress the battalion of hackers, modders and cheat sellers invading Verdansk. But the cheat scene is like a Hydra and Activision is consistently outnumbered. It is a war that will never be over.
